Happy New Year!

Happy 2009 everyone!!  We rang in the new year in style at the Starlight Gala which is a black tie optional party that benefits the American Cancer Society.  It was a lot of fun and it was nice to get all dressed up for a night out.

Unfortunately, I started getting sick on Monday and wasn't sure if I would be able to make it, but after a day and a half of sleep and a strict regiment of every allergy/antihistamine/cold medicine known to man, I decided that I was going to at least go for a little bit.

Since I felt like I had been hit by a train, I called MAC at North Park to see if they had any make-up appointments available... I thought it was my lucky day when they told me they had a cancellation and 5:00 was available.  That was, until I walked out looking like this:

The funny thing is, the guy doing it started out saying he was going to go with a "classy, subtle" look!!  SERIOUSLY?  Luckily the lips were an easy fix and toned it down enough to make it acceptable.

The party was very fun.  It was put on for the age group they referred to as "young professionals" which basically meant everyone was our age.  Despite all that, come midnight it was me and jules with four of our married friends.  So, I was Julie's new years kiss....
And she was mine:
Since we are both newly single, it was kind of a funny/ironic way to kick off the new year.  We also both got a kiss on the cheek from T.

Here are a few more pictures from the night:
Happy 2009!  I hope everyone has a wonderful year ahead!
