Sunset in Scottsdale

Between annual planning at work and Christmas shopping during my evenings off, I (like everyone else) have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off lately.

I read a great blog post earlier about stopping to appreciate sparkly eyes and it reminded me to take time to enjoy the small things in the midst of all the madness. So in that spirit of that, even though I don't have time to blog at the moment, I thought I would stop and share one of my "sparkly eye" moments from last weekend.

We flew to Phoenix to celebrate Christmas with my brother and sister-in-law. On Saturday we were all relaxing in their living room in the late afternoon when we looked over and noticed vivid colors of fractured light shining through the window in their front door. I opened the door to see one of the things I miss most about Phoenix- the gorgeous sunsets:

Keep in mind this wasn't taken with a fancy camera and hasn't been photoshopped in any way. Straight from my iPhone to here- it was that pretty.

Just a friendly moose & lulu reminder to take even the briefest of moments to stop and appreciate the wonderful parts of this crazy time of year.
