December in Pictures

For one of the busiest months of the year, it doesn't seem like I have very many pictures. I guess my picture taking suffers the busier I get. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! Here was my December:
Roomie trip to the grocery store ended with two baskets. For two girls. Seriously? What the heck, we weren't even throwing a party. You would have thought we were shopping for the Duggars!
E & T bought their first house! Here's part of the crew at their housewarming party.
T, T's mom, Al, my mom, Rachel, E, me.
E had their new house completely put together within one weekend. Every picture was hung and everything was unpacked with the exception of one box in the garage. When I passed by it, I happened to see her Chi Omega paddle that I made her almost a decade ago stuffed inside (she's my big sis). Naturally, I had to pull it out and demand to know why it wasn't prominently displayed in their new house somewhere.
The picture from the top of the paddle. We were 19 here. Look how baby faced we were! And apparently black chokers were all the rage back in 2001.
They changed the course for the White Rock marathon this year and the new route happened to run right by our front door. I kept hearing all this noise, and opened our door to find thousands of runners zipping by. We stood outside and watched and cheered for a bit and even saw someone we knew!
Taking in a little Mavs action with Todd.
I finally had the opportunity to go to a Cowboys game at the new stadium. It opened two seasons ago and I still hadn't been. We played the Redskins and just barely squeaked by with a win!
One of our clients invited us to the game and our tickets were in one of the field level suites- what a way to experience my first game! I'm going to be thoroughly spoiled now. The highlight of the game for me was when Miles Austin caught a touchdown pass in the corner of the end zone right behind my left shoulder. We were so close to him that I could see the big grin on his adorable face, but unfortunately not close enough to get a good look at those baby blues.
I love when our townhouse is all decorated for Christmas. I am feeling a little sad to take everything down today!
More decorations and the shopping cart I found for Kinley. She had one that she loved but it broke, and her parents had the hardest time finding a replacement. I was so excited when I found this, but apparently everyone in my family had the same idea, because she got five(!) shopping carts for Christmas!
Sweet moose taking a Christmas nap.
Ahhh.... the Christmas tradition of Bossdad busting out the accordion. Always entertaining. The best part is how he has to hold his mouth this certain way to concentrate.
Me and little Cam on Christmas night.
We did our annual girls Christmas dinner the day before New Years at Rise which is a souffle restaurant in Dallas. Very fun and different. I got the jambon & gruyere souffle, which I have to admit was a little too "breakfasty" for my taste. Al won the ordering game- she got the mushroom souffle that was amazing!
We rung in the New Year at a Mad Men themed house party. It was so much fun- especially since pretty much everyone came dressed up! I'm not sure what this says about me, but I was able to dress Alex and myself, head-to-toe with just the contents of my closet. Neither of us bought a thing. I guess "60's housewife" is kind of my style.
We spent New Years day at Erika & Trey's watching football, eating amazing food including black eyed pea chili (I've requested the recipe, don't you worry!), and apparently playing a little words with friends. I looked up at one point and this is what I saw. Four people on their phones playing WWF. If you count Rachel and I on our iPads that would be six. Remember when we used to go to social gatherings and actually talk to each other? It was the same crew as the night before, so maybe we were just all "talked out".

I hope everyone had a wonderful start to 2011! Cheers to the new year and new beginnings!
