I tossed around the idea of buying a tiny house in the M Streets but ultimately decided that I just wasn't quite ready for that level of commitment. I hate that I'm not building equity in something, but I'm choosing to focus on the positive: the fact that staying in my current location means I'll get to take full advantage of the urban lifestyle for at least another year or two.
However, finding a place was NOT an easy task given the ridiculous pricing of the rental market in Dallas right now.
Luckily, I found a hell of a deal (relatively speaking) on an apartment that has plenty of space, a bigger kitchen (yay!), and a workable closet. It's nothing fancy- no granite or stainless, but I'm not buying it so I figured space was more important than finish out. The fact that it's big enough to not feel like a shoebox is a definite bonus. And they are installing brand new wood floors and carpet before I move in!
I'm sad to leave Alex but can't wait to get settled into the new place!
