BIG News!

So... we got the house!!

I think we're both still in shock that we actually have a signed contract in place.  It became "the one that got away" after we lost the bidding war the first time around. We compared every house we looked at afterwards to this one and were kicking ourselves for not realizing that this was our house.

Luckily, that experience made us wise up and approach our second offer with a little bit of perspective. We also may have taken note of the seller's A&M cups in the kitchen and pulled the "We're 1/2 Aggie" card. Hey- you gotta do what you gotta do in a seller's market!

It isn't perfect by any means, but it has great bones and we are really excited to spend weekends fixing it up bit by bit and making it ours.  The first projects will include painting a few rooms and putting in a doggie door for the moose (priorities).

It's a little overwhelming to think about all the costs that are involved AFTER we dig all the spare change out of the couch cushions for closing. Patio furniture, flooring, lawn equipment, landscaping... it seems like the list goes on and on. But like my mom says, "you don't have to do it all at once."

The most important thing is that we are smitten with our little house and cannot wait until it's official in July!
