February in Pictures

I guess I should post February before March ends, huh?  And just a warning- I should probably name this "February in Pictures / Hawaii recap" since that's pretty much what it is.

SNOW!  We were actually on our way to the beach when this photo was taken by my mom. Great timing, right?

On the shuttle on the way to our hotel in Maui.

Birthday Dinner at Ferraro's with this handsome guy.

Post dinner walk on the beach. Beach selfies are better executed during the day, apparently.

Finally spilling the beans.

Sunset from the Andaz patio.

Hard to beat that view- in more ways than one.

Den trying to learn the ropes of the fancy camera. He got some great shots so I'm hoping he learns enough to be our official baby photographer.

We rented a car and drove up to Lahaina for the day to go whale watching only to be denied access to the boat when they saw my baby bump. We were annoyed, but still enjoyed spending the day wandering around Lahaina.

I had remembered seeing Hula Pie on the Cooking Channel awhile back and we happened to stumble on the exact place that was featured, Kimo's. It was massive, delicious, and worth every calorie.

Keeping with the theme of eating our way across Maui... I had been on the hunt for these cookies called Big Island Delights since our first day in Maui. Apparently the company's chocolate dipping machine broke in the fall and every place we went was out of them. Right when I was about to give up the search, we found a store that had some. So naturally I completely cleaned them out.

Celebrating our cookie score with probably some of the best pizza I've ever had. If you're ever in Lahaina GO to Lahaina Pizza Co. My mom and I went a few years ago and I was so happy to see that it was still in business. It's SO good!

Waiting for a sunset dinner cruise that we found as a substitute when we were kicked off the whale watching trip. Helpful Hint: avoid sunset dinner cruises in Maui at all costs unless you enjoy sub-par food, dirty boats, and sharing a table with people who make watching paint dry seem exciting.

At least I had this guy to entertain me.

So hard to beat those sunsets.

Enjoying a virgin pina colada (and the fact that I had to choice but to let it all hang out).

Soaking up our last day.

Luau before we had to head to the airport for our red eye.

So sad to leave.

My favorite bread ever. I was once gifted a membership to their monthly bread club, no joke. It made my day when I discovered on our San Francisco layover that they sell five-packs in a carry on box.

The weekend after we got back from our trip, we helped participate in a client's first annual chili cook off.  We didn't win, but it was fun to take part. Let me just tell you- there are some VERY serious chili cooks out there. It was pretty intense.

I'm not sure they appreciated our laid back attitude and the fact that we brought a blow up cactus with us. If nothing else, we infused the event with a little personality. :)

31 Weeks

How far along?  31 weeks.

How big is the baby this week?  Baby Center says he is is the size of  a coconut and that we should get ready for a growth spurt. I'm already feeling large and in charge, so this should get interesting.

Total Weight Gain?  19 pounds.

Maternity Clothes?  Yes. I'm starting to seriously look forward to maxi dresses.  I'm so over pants.

Best Moment of the Week?  GETTING OUR HOUSE DONE! This is probably the best moment of this last month. Remodeling half your house while 7 months pregnant is not the smartest decision- just FYI. But now that it's done, I couldn't be happier.  It is so nice and clean looking and I'm thrilled that we won't have to mess with it post-baby.  We are so indebted to my parents for a solid week of help painting and making Home Depot runs in order to get it done. I'll post photos soon!

Trouble Sleeping?  I have slept like a rock- again this is mainly due to sheer exhaustion.

Miss Anything?  Getting up and down off the floor without feeling like I need a forklift to assist. Again, don't remodel your house while 7 months pregnant. My job was to paint the trim down low since no one trusted me on a ladder. Needless to say, I got a good leg workout hoisting my body weight + 20 lbs up and down and up again.

Movement?  Tons.

Food Cravings?  I FINALLY got my hands on Hazed and Confused ice cream from Ben & Jerry's. It was glorious. Not quite what I had imagined in my head, but still so good. Sweets in general are pretty delish these days.  Also: Schlotzsky's*.

Belly Button - In or Out?  Mostly an outie with a touch of innie.

Symptoms?  Hungry and some back pain.

Wedding Ring - Off or on? On

Happy or Moody?  Happy! Having a freshly remodeled house to marvel at will do that to you.

Looking Forward to?  Finishing up the nursery and spending the weekend at Andrews Ranch with all my college girlfriends for Alex's bachelorette party. Sad that I'll be the lone sober one for the majority of the weekend, but you better believe I have my O'Douls packed and ready to go!

*Before you judge me for eating lunchmeat, I ask them to run it through the toaster thingie twice to kill any possible baby-harming bacteria.

29 Weeks

Forgot to post this one... but it's written, so better late than never!

So this photo was from my shower and my aunt directed me to "go stand in front of the diaper cake." Only....... I'm too big and completely eclipsed said diaper cake. Oops!

How far along?  29 weeks.

How big is the baby this week?  Butternut Squash / 2.5 pounds.

Total Weight Gain?  19 pounds.

Maternity Clothes?  Yes. This question gets very redundant toward the end. I'm big enough that I have started having strangers ask when I'm due. Personally, I don't go there unless the woman I'm talking to is in labor, but it's nice to know that I'm far beyond that "Pregnant or just a little hefty around the middle?" stage.

Best Moment of the Week?  Our baby shower! It was an insanely crazy weekend, but my girlfriends threw an adorable shower for Baby G. We were also able to check some of the essentials off our list thanks to our generous friends and family. As well as plenty of non-essentials (i.e. the Baby Keurig from my parents which I am so excited to try out that I almost went and bought some formula to make a test bottle.)

Trouble Sleeping?  I've been sleeping great this week out of pure exhaustion. Luckily I'm still not having to get up 15x a night to use the bathroom although I know that's coming faster than I'd like.

Miss Anything?  All the usuals... normal pants, wine, sleeping on my stomach.

Movement?  I can definitely tell that he's starting to run out of room and sometimes it feels like he might be rearranging some organs.

Food Cravings?  The same as last week- Hazed and Confused ice cream from Ben & Jerry's. It's come to my attention that the Ben & Jerry's close to us gets their deliveries on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so I plan on trying again on Wednesday. Oh yes... I know the Ben & Jerry's restocking schedule- don't judge.

Belly Button - In or Out?  Still barely hanging on for dear life.

Symptoms?  I think those crazy hormones might be kicking in because I've been overly emotional lately. In my defense, we have a lot on our plate right now with some house remodeling, but I have been a little bit of a whack job this last week. Den, on the other hand, might disagree with the "little bit" part of that statement.

Wedding Ring - Off or on? On

Happy or Moody?  Half and half. See above.  :)

Looking Forward to?  Hopefully starting to demo the floors of our house this week. I'm so tired that I don't even want to think about it, but we have to get started if we have any hopes of finishing the nursery before Baby G arrives. We have 1100 square feet of wood stacked up in our breakfast room next to all the baby gear from our shower. Getting that floor laid and the nursery started will help my sanity immensely.

28 Weeks

(I forgot to take a bump photo this week so you get a photo of the wee one instead!)

How far along?  28 weeks.

How big is the baby this week?  Baby Center says he is is the size of an eggplant and should weigh 2 1/4 pounds.  However, according to my sono this week, homeboy is an overachiever and currently appears to weigh around 3 pounds 3 ounces.

Total Weight Gain?  17 pounds.

Maternity Clothes?  Yes. Lame. I'm over it.

Best Moment of the Week?  Seeing him during our sono, of course! We didn't get the greatest photos out of it because she said he was moving too much, but we got confirmation that everything looks normal and the previa issue I was having is now completely resolved. He has chubby cheeks and big feet (which he had up by his face the majority of the time). And I passed my gestational diabetes test which I was a little worried about since the doctor told me the only reason I should have an issue is if I was "just a total carb freak" (which I most definitely am).

Trouble Sleeping?  It's still very touch and go. But I must be getting some good sleep because Den informed me late in the week that he had spent three out of the previous four nights in the guest room because I was snoring so loud. He reassured me that I typically don't snore so I'm chalking this up to a pregnant thing.

Miss Anything?  Sleeping on my stomach.

Movement?  Tons.

Food Cravings?  That damn Hazed and Confused ice cream from Ben & Jerry's that I've yet to get my hands on.

Belly Button - In or Out?  Still barely hanging on for dear life.

Symptoms?  Hungry.

Wedding Ring - Off or on? On

Happy or Moody?  Happy for the most part.

Looking Forward to?  My brother coming in town and my first shower thrown by my girlfriends.
