February in Pictures

I guess I should post February before March ends, huh?  And just a warning- I should probably name this "February in Pictures / Hawaii recap" since that's pretty much what it is.

SNOW!  We were actually on our way to the beach when this photo was taken by my mom. Great timing, right?

On the shuttle on the way to our hotel in Maui.

Birthday Dinner at Ferraro's with this handsome guy.

Post dinner walk on the beach. Beach selfies are better executed during the day, apparently.

Finally spilling the beans.

Sunset from the Andaz patio.

Hard to beat that view- in more ways than one.

Den trying to learn the ropes of the fancy camera. He got some great shots so I'm hoping he learns enough to be our official baby photographer.

We rented a car and drove up to Lahaina for the day to go whale watching only to be denied access to the boat when they saw my baby bump. We were annoyed, but still enjoyed spending the day wandering around Lahaina.

I had remembered seeing Hula Pie on the Cooking Channel awhile back and we happened to stumble on the exact place that was featured, Kimo's. It was massive, delicious, and worth every calorie.

Keeping with the theme of eating our way across Maui... I had been on the hunt for these cookies called Big Island Delights since our first day in Maui. Apparently the company's chocolate dipping machine broke in the fall and every place we went was out of them. Right when I was about to give up the search, we found a store that had some. So naturally I completely cleaned them out.

Celebrating our cookie score with probably some of the best pizza I've ever had. If you're ever in Lahaina GO to Lahaina Pizza Co. My mom and I went a few years ago and I was so happy to see that it was still in business. It's SO good!

Waiting for a sunset dinner cruise that we found as a substitute when we were kicked off the whale watching trip. Helpful Hint: avoid sunset dinner cruises in Maui at all costs unless you enjoy sub-par food, dirty boats, and sharing a table with people who make watching paint dry seem exciting.

At least I had this guy to entertain me.

So hard to beat those sunsets.

Enjoying a virgin pina colada (and the fact that I had to choice but to let it all hang out).

Soaking up our last day.

Luau before we had to head to the airport for our red eye.

So sad to leave.

My favorite bread ever. I was once gifted a membership to their monthly bread club, no joke. It made my day when I discovered on our San Francisco layover that they sell five-packs in a carry on box.

The weekend after we got back from our trip, we helped participate in a client's first annual chili cook off.  We didn't win, but it was fun to take part. Let me just tell you- there are some VERY serious chili cooks out there. It was pretty intense.

I'm not sure they appreciated our laid back attitude and the fact that we brought a blow up cactus with us. If nothing else, we infused the event with a little personality. :)
